Transmissive TFT LCD Display
The transmissive LCD screen is the most common LCD screen, which requires a backlight as the light source, and there is no reflective film on the back of the LCD screen.
Pros: As long as there is very little light, we can see graphics and characters on the screen very clearly. 90% of the LCD screens on the market are transmissive liquid crystal displays, and the technology is very mature.
Cons: We can't see well if we're outside or in strong outside light. It completely relies on the backlight panel as the only light source, and the display effect cannot meet our requirements
The Transflective TFT LCD Display
Transflective liquid crystal It has a semi-reflective film on the back of the LCD screen. Front light cannot pass through the semi-reflective film, but the backlight can pass through it.
Advantages: It has the advantages of both transmissive liquid crystal displays and reflective liquid crystal displays. Not only can we see it clearly outdoors like a reflective LCD, but we can also see it clearly in dark places like a transmissive LCD. We think of the front transflective LCD as a reflective LCD because it reflects sunlight, but the LED backlight also provides light that can penetrate the semi-reflective film on the back of the LCD screen.
Disadvantage: The price is more expensive. Although transflective liquid crystal technology is very mature, the cost of transflective film is expensive, and only high-end electronic products will use it.
In fact, the main difference between the two modes of transmissive and transflective is usually based on the positioning of the use environment. Because transmissive cannot reflect the outside light, it is usually used indoors. If it is used outdoors, unless the backlight brightness is very high, otherwise The display effect will be greatly reduced because the sunlight is too strong.
